At 12 years old, Marisa McAdams has already finished two more books than most writers. Now she’s at work on her third.
McAdams, who loves animals, is also writing stories about them. She published The Swimming Cats: The Turkish Van Chronicles in 2009 and earned $400 for her efforts. She recently published Mouse Adventures and is working on a third animal-themed book now.
“Being an author is special because you publish your stories so people can see and you yourself can see the finished product “… a real book,” exclaimed McAdams, who’s set a personal goal to write for a big publishing house by the time she’s in college. “It means a lot to me because it makes me feel special and unique. You can be as creative as you want when writing your story. You can make up what happens and have fun with it.”
