I can't wait for this Friday! I agree with Trina. When Larry first appeared, he didn't seem like the typical character you'd see in a story like this. He seemed more comical. In my opinion, it gives Larry and Lydia's back story a bit more weight. Though the "Tony Situation" may never be explained to readers, it does invite you to speculate a bit on what happened between these two people. It also colors the characters a bit more and, I think, adds to the drama of the scene as it plays out. Feel free to weigh in with your own thoughts on this, the chapter, or the book in general.
