Her story just keeps getting better.
Self-publishing hero Amanda Hocking’s paranormal teen romance, The Trylle Trilogy has been optioned for a movie, the author announced on her blog yesterday.
Hocking, who made international publishing news when she sold more than 450,000 copies of her books via Amazon’s Kindle in January, wrote that Terri Tatchell, the Oscar nominated screenplay writer and Bradbury Award winner for District 9, is going to adapt the trilogy into a screenplay.
Hocking tried to temper her excitement, saying:
Now, before you get too excited, I’m going to clarify – she’s only optioned to write the screenplay. This is no guarantee that this will be a movie. Things fall apart all the time for various reasons. And I have no idea how long it would be before a movie would be released, if it were to even come to frution.
We say that no matter what happens, this is great news for Hocking, her fans, and every indie author who dreams to make it big. Congratulations!
