One of the hardest things to do as a writer is promote your book. As a self-published author, it’s even more difficult, as you have no advertising budget of a publisher behind you (though even published novelists are having to do more of their own promotion these days). So where should you advertise?
Self Publishing Review has a post from Lindsay Buroker, where she details four different advertising campaigns and her experiences with advertising.
Advertising can be hit or miss, though, and many authors end up spending more money on the ads than they recoup in royalties. Two decent places I’ve found are Kindle Nation Daily (a blog that specializes in writing about ebooks available for the Kindle) and Goodreads (a huge community for book lovers).
