"The numbness in the child’s expression as the bald man raped her, stabbed Baldwin in the guts. Whoever the girl was, that person had died long ago, leaving a shell not unlike that of those downstairs."

Congratulations guys, you made the hair on my arms stand up. Very disturbing, disgusting, and horribly sad. And very well written--the whole chapter.

Wow... my mind is racing around the possibilities you've now openned. Is there a morality play that contributed to the deaths of both the man and woman, and if so.... what does that suggest regarding Baldwin's wife?? That would be a fun ride.

Or am I way off track and there's an even better ride that my mind can not yet conceive??

And who the hell buried the guy in the first place.

I need chapters 6 - 20 now!

Hope the book deals come rolling in soon!

Mary Anne: I'm thrilled you are enjoying it. Dave and I really hope this catches on, and that more and more people will go back and start reading it from the beginning. We want it to be as enjoyable for the audience as it is rewarding for us. Thank you for reading.

Trina: Yup, I wasn't whistling dixie. This installment was black as midnight. Next week's is on the stove and the flame is HOT.

Had to take a break before responding, just to process...whoa what a ride. Was not expecting Seans whistling last week to culminate in such a revelation. My minding is flipping at the repulsive topic, at the possibility of what may be. Available Darkness is shedding it's rays...
Thank you Dave, Sean!

The story line gets darker and richer--and the writing even more read *worthy*--with each installment. I love the new graphic, too.

What an amazing trip and experience you guys are providing. Dickens' Oliver Twist captures my own sentiments perfectly:

"More!"

As a writer, the series continues to intrigue. As a reader, I believe it's getting better and better. I love that there aren't punches pulled - this is the story, the early seeds of something inevitable. This was my favorite chapter so far, even though it made me uncomfortable. Cindy squirmed while reading, but kept on going. This tells me all I need to know.
