Editorial Evaluation

You’ve spent a long time on your book. Now it’s time to move it past the next mile marker on the road to publication. Our editorial evaluation will give you the peace of mind you need by answering the following questions.

• Who is the book’s target audience?
• Does the writing style match the genre?
• Are the characters well developed and believable?
• How is the pace?
• How is the book’s structure?
• How does the book flow from chapter to chapter and section to section?
• Does the book effectively grab the reader’s attention from the beginning?

Layout and Design Services

Book Cover Design: You may not be able to judge a book by its cover, but two books with the same insides and different colors would not have equal sales. People look at a book cover first. This is natural. It sets the tone for what inside. After reading the back, most book lovers still turn the title around to take another look at the front.

Your cover will have a huge mental impact on a reader’s decision to buy. Don’t let your beautiful book go to waste. We can take your ideas and turn them into book cover magic.

• Silver: The Silver Package includes assistance with layout and design. In the silver package we will use an author-provided image in addition to an author photo. We will use one color and two standard fonts, one for the title and one for author name and back cover text. The Silver Package is perfect for most business titles or an author on a budget – $500
• Gold: The Gold Package, includes everything in the Silver Package, plus up to five hours design time. We can work with an author-provided image or create one from scratch, or a combination of both. This package also includes the placement of back text, author photo and barcode. This Gold Package is perfect for the sensible author who wants their book to have a memorable cover – $700
• Platinum: The Platinum Package includes everything in the Gold, plus an additional five hours design time. This package offers a one-of-a-kind cover with varied images and textures. The Platinum Package is perfect for those authors who want their finished work to reflect all the time and love they’ve poured into their book with a cover that is unforgettable – $1,000

Prices do not include extra costs for securing photos or premium fonts which require special licensing.

E-book Layout

The interior layout of your e-book is important to the reader experience. Your reader will spend their hours going through the adventure you’ve written for them line by line. The last thing you want is for their experience to be impeded by flaws in the layout.

Because we understand the immeasurable power of the blog, every author site the Collective Inkwell designs utilizes WordPress blogging software and a free blogging tutorial to help you get started. All of our blogs are SEO-optimized to help you reach your target readers. All blogs also come with the option to have us help you tweak your About page at no cost.

• Basic: The Basic Package comes with a simple theme with a custom color scheme, a text header (or author-provided image header) and up to 10 links in the sidebar. The Basic author’s site comes with three pages: Home, About and Blog. – $500
• Modified: The Modified Package is the Basic, but with a custom header designed by us and a custom Twitter background to extend your branding beyond the blog and to one of the world’s best social media sites. The modified site includes Home, About, Blog, and up to 4 more pages of your choice. – $900
• Custom: The Custom author’s site is designed top to bottom to reflect your personality and distinct voice. We work with you to find out what best illustrates who you are and how your finished design will help you relate to your ideal audience. – $1,500 +
