You know what's scary about Misery is that feels SO real. You get in her head and so her actions have a gravity that some Snidley Wiplash, mustache twirling villain would never be able to manage.

How many movies can ever truly crawl into your brain the way a good book can? Not many.

Hi Sean. Yes, "Uncle Stevie" is probably my all-time favorite author. I was captivated from the first time I read an excerpt from Salem's Lot , I believe, in in Cosmo. I ran right out and bought the book and devoured it in one day. I am glad that I was able to share him with you and that you enjoyed his books as much as I did. I even really liked Pet Semetary! My all time favorites, though, are the IT and The Talisman. Brilliant and Inspired.
Never knew you were reading all the naughty stuff at Waldens....I would have had a cow!! xo mom

You know, I had to really think hard to remember its name; seems my deep mind wanted to keep it at arms reach! It was Misery, and the passage was the one when he is begging her not to hurt him, I think when she is about to hobble him. Urgh. I could hear him, it distressed me so much, I just couldn't carry on with it. A week of nightmares came afterwards.

Funnily enough, the film was upsetting, but not on the deep level the book was. It didn't feel like the film crawled into my brain in the way the book did.

Aww shucks, Michelle, that's too kind. Thank you so much! : )

That's cool that you got to meet him! I would expect him to be pretty funny. Despite the pitch black tone of much of his work, it also (almost always) has an undercurrent of humor.

Thanks for everything, Michelle. Truly.
